FAQs
Where is your office? How do I get in?
If you’ve booked an “in-person” therapy session with me, this means you’re coming to the office. I work at 2-692 Osborne St. This is a building in the same strip as The Park Theatre and Leopolds. There is signage on an awning above my door that says “Oakwood Therapy Block”.
When you arrive, I should be waiting for you at the door. If not, please text me at (431) 228-9730. Please do NOT use the doorbell on the building as it is not 100% reliable.
Where can I park?
There is free parking literally right infront of my door on Osborne St most days. If there is an event at The Park Theatre, these spots may be full, but there will be ample free parking flanking the block.
What is your cancellation policy?
I now require 24 hours notice for all cancellations regardless of the reason for the cancellation. If I do not receive 24 hours notice, you will be charged your full session fee.
Do you price on a sliding scale?
As of May 25th, 2025, I will not be applying a sliding scale to new clients. If my therapy is not affordable to you, please communicate this to me and we can discuss a payment plan, new treatment plan, or options for shorter sessions.
Where are your walk and talk sessions located?
I do walk and talk sessions at three locations: Assiniboine Park, Kildonan Park and St.Vital Park. I do not do walk and talk sessions when it is dark out, raining, or below -10 degrees.
Is there anyone you wouldn’t recommend this therapy for?
EFT can be emotionally provocative. I do not want my therapy to be the reason that anyone crosses boundaries that impact their safety or the safety of others.
The only contraindications that I consider for EFT are addictions and abuse. If you are struggling with your relationship to substance use, I ask that you access other resources for this while we do therapy together. If you know that you are abusing your loved ones, or I notice that you are abusing your loved ones, I will recommend additional programming for this as we work together as well.
If you are curious about whether EFT will be a good fit for you, feel free to contact me at jessicahilltherapy@gmail.com.
Do you do direct billing? What insurance providers do you work with?
I do not do direct billing. After attending your session, you will receive a receipt that you can use to make a claim.
If there is any question as to whether your specific plan covers relational therapy, I encourage you to reach out to your specific provider to verify this information prior to our first session
What is a consultation call like?
A consultation call is a fifteen minute block of time for you to ask me questions. It is not mandatory, but some folks prefer for us to touch base this way prior to our first session.
What can I expect in a first session?
First, I discuss the limits of confidentiality and a bit about what to expect in therapy with me. After that, we talk about what feels comfortable for you to let me in on. First sessions are all about a lot of “getting to know you” stuff. The pacing of our therapy together is based on your level of comfort, so we only swim to the deep end when you feel ready to do so.
